Golden Age Wonder Woman - Deathtraps and Great Escapes

Wonder Woman went Hollywood in Senstation Comics 12 when Supreme Pictures
contacted Military Intelligence to assist in talking her into doing an
inspirational picture chronicling her adventures. Initially uninterested
she changed her mind when Colonel Darnell casually mentioned Major Trevor was
working on a case in Los Angeles. So Diana "exercises a woman's privilege and
changes her mind". As you've probably guessed the movie is a front for the
supposedly late Baroness Paula Von Gunther to try and get rid of Wonder Woman
once again. Which is why her maid tries to give her drugged tea just before
shooting starts. However poisoning Wonder Woman was just one of several
schemes Paula had dreamed up. The next one was a lot more explosive.

Having escaped this peril Wonder Woman rescued Steve from a joint German/ Japanese spy ring operating from a submergible island after a few more adventures but was disappointed the Baroness went to jail instead of Reform Island. That would come a little later and turn her greatest enemy into her greatest ally. But that's another story entirely.
OF course not every escape Wonder Woman attempted was as tricky as this one. For a few examples check out Not So Great Escapes
