Golden Age Wonder Woman - More Not So Great Escapes

Things took an interesting turn in Sensation Comics 8 with Wonder Woman
indulging in a little kidnapping and brainwashing of her own. Of course it
was done solely with the best of intentions.
Appalled by the conditions of the shop girls working at Bullfinch's
Department Store Wonder Woman decided to drop in on the owner, Gloria
Bullfinch.

Meanwhile Wonder Woman investigated Steve Trevor's disappearance. While not a military matter he had got caught up in this by asking Diana Prince on a date. Gangsters looking to do something about the nosy Diana (who had been poking around) before she discovered their plans to loot and destroy the store while blaming it on disgruntled employees. Steve drove them off but vanished when he tried to tail them and Diana blamed herself for getting him involved. So Wonder Woman looked around and ran into a very suspicious looking girl. Certainly she was suspicious enough to distract Diana's attention.

It turned out the mastermind behind the scheme was Gloria Bullfinch's fiancee. Of course it all ended happily. Gloria snapped back to normal and after her experience improved working conditions for her employees. First taking a few moments to punch out her now ex-fiancee. Fortunately for Wonder Woman she didn't bear a grudge because of the brainwashing which just goes to show people used to be a lot more forgiving and less likely to litigate. At least in the funny pages. Back to the first Not So Great Escape
